U.S. adults face near-poverty, unemployment

This article claims that 4 out of 5 faces joblessness and near poverty. A recent survey claims the gap between rich and poor is widening and there's a loss of good paying manufacturing jobs. A lady in Virginia states that the economy is so bad that kids have nothing better to do than to get on drugs.

I think this is really upsetting. All Americans use to strive and prosper, but now 4 out of 5 adults are unemployed and living off the government checks.

Drop in unemployment at the end of 2012

The unemployment rate dropped 0.2% from October 2012 to November 2012. I thought this article meant that more people were starting to get their jobs back since a lot of people have been laid off. Economists suggest that this a result of a shrinking labor force instead of an addition of jobs.

This isn't good for the economy because people have stopped looking for jobs. So now people who aren't willing to look for jobs anymore will probably register for welfare collecting money from hard working people who earn their money. This really annoys me. I wouldn't have a problem with it if they were looking for work and couldn't find any so they registered for welfare to help them out, but too many people have stopped looking for work and are living off the government.
